Miss Akari was
sooooo KAWAII can?

Cos she was very
paiseh when the whole band greeted her, haha.
Guess who came back?
Hafizah! (Is that how you spell?)

Our senior bass clarinetist! After sectionals since band started at 12.30, we went back for combine cos we heard Mr Lim and Ms Akari have reached. Know what Emily told me?
"
我刚才看到她了,她跟我一样高 leh!"

My first reaction was

lah but soon, I came to realise that most japanese girls are
petite
So we started to run through our repetoire (except for "Centuria") and Yuan Ling and Yin Yin were absent, so Mr Lim askef if Ms Akari mind playing the empty parts for "Starflight Overture".

I've gotta say, her semiquavers were
soooo precise! Ah, of course, that's what you have from a member (?) of
Tokyo Kosei Wind Orchestra. Then she also played the cymbals (I guess) for "High School Musical" and it sounded much nicer

It was very true when she told us that she couldn't hear who is playing melody and who is playing accompaniment during the run through of our repetoire.
Went for another 30 minutes sectionals cos Ms Akari is going to interact with the percussionists. Kind of slacked during sectionals la, haha. Asked for suggestions of what to do, where to go for
section outing after concert.
"Slacky" sectionals' over! Miss Akari taught us how to pronounce the japanese words in the song and well, there were some miscommunications in between because she wasn't very fluent in english. But there were some funny parts laaa.
Ms Akari: "Repeat after me."
Ms Akari: "Ta to e ba ki mi ga, ki zu su i te."
Band: "Ta to e ba ki mi ga, ki zu su i te."Ms Akari: "Mm (correct)."Band: *loudly* "Mm!"
Ms Akari: *covers her mouth and laughs*She's
wayyy too cute!
She told us to stand up and pronounce the words properlu after going through and explaining the meaning... we looked like giants to her! (Er... no offence) I told Yun Han that
Ms Akari is cuter than her when we were packing up

She's an adult leh, cuter than Yun Han?!
Hui Xian, Li Yin, Mei Xuan, Emily, Jie Ying, Dawn and I went to Point to buy some snacks before heading home. Dawn asked me is it temptation or is she just greedy cos she wanna buy another cheese hotdog

(and she's eating the first one). I would say it's neither? But to me it's greed lah cos I bought 2 in a go.
Anddd... I didn't expect
the cheese in my hotdog to squirt onto Jie Ying's shirt
while eating. I was being very cautious already since I had the cheese
landed on my specs before.
Mr Lee treated Emily a pack of fries! No fair, I want also!

Some of us appreciated what our teachers are doing for us but some barely even cared.
Heartless creeps? Can't you people just
shut up and listen to whoever is in front? The ever-hyper and enthusiastic tiger
broke down today, at least show some sympathy? Show some dedicated to the Band and the teachers?
Certainly, I'm in no position to criticise anyone here but I have to say out my view.
Anonymous don't treasure her own instrument and the better player in her section gets the outdated instrument. When she's not invited, she
clings onto seniors who don't even like her. Oh gosh, somebody influence her to be a better person or
get her out of my friend's back!Okayokay, walked home after band with Li Yin, Hui Xian and Wei Shi (alumni from euphonium) and we saw a bunch of
ah lians.
Booooooooooooooooo!What a lousy ending =P

Hougang Primary's performance was quite okay today 'cept that Primary 6 boys behaved like little
Ah Bengs and constantly pestered us for more sweets, grr. I wished that we could interact with the girls *sob*
Anyway, dark clouds start to gather after our first part of performance ended. While having our maggie mee in our school canteen, the rain poured heavily. So Hui Xian, Dawn and I went up to get umbrella, there were 2 man making the new back door for band room. Guess what I saw?
The other guy, a Chinese, was playing trombone section's metronome! I can hear clearly all the clicking and winding sound of the metronome! What are your hands used for right now?
Playing stuff that is not yours? I warned him that the metronome doesn't belong to him and he should put it back... I think he took 5 seconds to react to my words. Pfft,
RETARD!
Samuel was sitting on the Atrium ground when we got down... he
fell down on the slippery floor while chasing a cab. Poor boy.
After performance out of nowhere, Jie Ying found a "son" for Faith... a Primary 1 boy whose Gemaine's younger brother's friend. That little boy just sits right beside Faith and his
eyes were sooo big, lips were so small! So cute! And that boy's dad is
Jackson... haha! Jie Ying and I kept annoying Faith about her cute son afterwards and soon a lot more people know about this. We did take it that Faith acknowledges the boy as her son 'cos she was smiling all the way when she saw those kids!
Primary 1 kids are just so innocent and enthu lah =DAfter the performance, Daniel Tan stayed back and used Shi Min's phone to take a photo of a Primary 1 girl whose sitting behind Faith's "son". He went
"See that girl over there?
So cute right!"Took photo of her, haha. By the way, the teacher was explaining to Primary 1 kids how to use an iPod though *gee*.
Are they lucky or what?***
It was SO NICE of you,
Jackson, to actually
trying to kill me while I was hurrying down the stairs by
PUSHING ME FORWARD. Do you know I can have one of my limbs fractured if I had let my hand off the railing? Or do you know that I can't coordinate well walking down the stairs since last year?
Since I was holding onto the railing, occupying one side of the stairs, you could still use the other side (since it also has railings)
instead of hurrying me and trying to kill me by pushing when An Chun was counting down!
Thank you SO MUCH. I wished I could just stomp on your toes and let you scream for "Mommy!"

Those people who got the NYP tix were kinda shocked as their concert name was
"Sinfonia" (coincedence?) and I think that they were thinking of the song that we played during the exchange... but it has
NO LINK LAHHH.The whole big group of us (Chand, Julie, Emily, Mei Xuan, Hayley, Angelina, Eunice, Li Yin, Hui Xian, Daniel Chan, Samuel, Dickson, Ziyi, Yun Han and me) went to take 72 to NYP and we
chionged to see the photos outside the auditorium. My jaws practically
DROPPED when I saw my face on one of the photos cos my fringe looks so
toot lor. I've found an oboe girl whom Uthara will look like when she's in her 20s, haha!

Doesn't the cover of the concert booklet look like some
chocolate wrapper? =D Yummy eh?
Ohmygosh! (Click the image for a larger view) Now, few things to
"WOW!" about: the first song is
"The Sound of Music", the last circled one on the first column is
"Russian Sailors Dance" which Regent brass quintet has played it before! The 5th song on the 2nd column is...
"Rhapsody in Blue"!But sadly, they didn't played the version that I was expecting to hear: the opening
clarinet solo with its amazing
17 notes slurred in a count and the super long
piano solo~.Lastly, look at the 3rd song frm the first column...
"Procession of Sardar"!Waaaaaaaaaa! Am I dreaming or what?! This song brings back many fond memories especially the...
"
Watermelon, banana, watermelon, banana, watermelon, banana, banana... BA-NA-NA!"Mei Xuan and I were swinging to this song (although its some classic song) when they played it! Oh~ nice memories!
Speaking of why my post title was "XXL", I guess most seniors should know the reason. I don't know what's her reason of following us when none of us treated her existence seriously, then Dickson thought we went OVERBOARD by avoiding her obviously and gave us a "wake-up call"... but it will never go through my brain (:All I've gotta say is...
good luck, Ziyi =D
what we could have been, 6:11 PM.
Some guys are starting to be my brother by wearing hairbands cos they didn't wanna get
pimples! Guess who?
An Chun! *hehe*
Certain sections, including my section, couldn't have sectionals at the 3rd level cos the Sec 4s are studying so we went to the science block. Joey, Ziana, Shu Zhuang, Jie Ying and I were playing bar 76 of "American Salute" and "Starflight" together, Jie Ying later jumped for joy and told me,
"YAY!
我会了!"I thought,
finally! Jie Ying knows how to tongue for bar 76 and "Starflight"! Turns out that she was actually
slurring everything, but she sounded like she had tongued every single note la...
good for you Jie Ying! (: Later I spot Hayley's eyes swollen and had tears at the corner of the eyes, I thought she had just yawned but I didn't know she
cried next! Despite us consoling her, she still didn't tell us the reason... probably stress bah. Haybee~ cannot cry okay! Later your eyes swollen like goldfish then not pretty le, haha. =X
Went back to band room to put our instruments and
keluar-baris together to go for 1 hour lunch break!
Woo hoo! Juniors are luckier lah as they get to go home, haha. Had bandito pockett at KFC with Li Yin, Hui Xian, Dawn, Eunice and Lynette. There were loads of
houseflies in KFC which really creeped me out and made my goosebumps stand!
Imagine the sound of their wings buzzing past your ears... *shivers* Dawn and I talked on the way back about Faith's well-known
3 words, heh!
The band had to wait for Professor Boyd and Mr Ong at AVA room, VIPs ma. Jackson went to sit beside Shi Min, who was sitting beside Joey, and
leaned his head on Shi Min's shoulder! Ohmygosh! So
GAY! =X Jie Ying and I decided to make fun of Faith, so while Jackson was still leaning on Shi Min's shoulders...
Jie Ying: "Faith
不要伤心! Faith
不要吃醋!"Seconds later after Faith finished adjusting the height of her stand...
Faith:
"我没有!"LOL. There it is, her 3 well-known words.
Faith then slowly walked outta the room with An Chun pulling her back, just making fun of her. I think he held onto her wrist and disallowed her to walk any further? Then Faith quickly walked out of the room le, the whole band went
"
Ooo~ An Chun~!"
Someone said,
"An Chun 吃 Faith 的豆腐!" and An Chun "shh-ed" us in a very fake way, haha!
What if Faith blushes when she's outside? =X
Finally, Professor Boyd and Mr Ong (the trombonist in Brass Kinetics) arrived and we played "Starflight" and "American Salute" with the help and guidance of Professor Boyd. Don't wanna say what we found so funny after both of the VIPs left, hehe!
Fall-in! Mei Xuan was putting her bag down and talking at the tables then I started calling "Mei
XIANNN! Salty fishball!". She showed me show wah-lao face but Jonathan later called,
"Oi!
Mee Sua! HAHAHA!"
Mei Xuan went to find Jerrick (who started all the Mei XIAN thing) then Jerrick called her
Starfish instead. She was blur and acted like a starfish at first but she, again, gave Jerrick the wah-lao face when he said that "Starfish has no brains!"
Dorothy was hurt and Mei Xuan falled out to assist her, then Angelina came in and we talked about next year 3E6 peeps. The first thing I spoke was,
"Oh ya, Naomi next year 3E6 same class as you hor?"
Daniel Tan was like, "Argh,
shit: Naomi."
Good luck An Zhu, Hayley, and Chand! xD

Ms Tan came today to conduct us on "An American Elegy"! She's a very good conductor lah cos she can express how the music is supposed to sound like... but she was kinda
excited over this song, haha. Joey was shocked by Ms Tan cos she suddenly walked towards her while conducting. Overall, the combine was
really fun!She reminded us that we must use
qing gong (internal energy?) to play some of the notes in order to express it well enough to the audience. (:
Yeap. Going to Band World later.
Aiya, I know my blog is centuries outdated lah... so don't bother watching this space cos I'll only update when I feel like it. HEHE.

Wasted trip to IMM today. Pfft.
Hui Xian and I took 72 with Dickson and Fong Yee to YCK station, then took train to Jurong East and the other 2 of them went for SNCO practice. Hui Xian and I were like
suakoos wandering around IMM cos we
couldn't find Band World! Forget it then, we went to
Daiso to shop! This outlet at IMM was extremely big! You can shop till you drop!
I bought
green tea cookies, choco chip cookies, bottled milk coffee and both of us bought the
Vision-Correcting glasses! I tried it just now and its soooooo cool! It has
tiny little holes on the "lenses" which, to you, may seem a bit ridiculous cos you think you can't see anything with it but it actually doesn't blocks your vision when you wear it on! Cool eh? Hamtaro mentioned that Guardian is selling this glasses for 10+ bucks... when I can get it at Daiso for just $2.
Then I realised that I've been missing out Roti Boy's food lately, but guess what I found!
ROTI MUM!LOL. I bought 4 of them (ate one) and we took the super looooong ride home for dinner.
An indian man was looking at my handphone when I was typing SMS, pfft.
Busybody. I was telling myself this,
LOOK! You look one more time I slap your face and dig out your eyeballs ah! He just looked away when I closed my phone, sheesh.
KAYPOH!You can say that our trip was kinda boring but I was very tempted to buy the clothes there!
ARGH! I hate you pushcart stall owners! =P
